Verizonwireless, ipv6 and torrents

I'm not sure what just changed, or maybe I never did a ipv6 check before today, but I just did a IP address check once connected to airvpn and now I see my ipv6 address. Previously I only saw my ip4 address and it was masked when I connected to airvpn (my ip4 is still masked). Did verizonwireless just change to ipv6? A little googling looks like they have been using it for a while so not sure why I didn't see this before.

 

My use for airvpn is torrents. I use airvpn on my Android phone with openvpn. How do I stay safe and hidden behind airvpn? My searching looks like airvpn does not support ipv6. Does this mean I'm boned?

While it's true that AirVPN doesn't support IPv6, but currently the vast majority of ISPs, if not all, offer dual-stack configuration

and assign you both IPv4 and IPv6.

 

So just check if you do have your IPv4 properly set up, block IPv6 at your end using a firewall rule or Eddie, and re-check.

Haven't been doing much torrenting lately and when I have I've been using my home wifi which is ipv4 and is no problem. I'm coming back to bring this issue up once again as I haven't found a solution when I have a ipv6 address.

 

Eddie is not for android. I have a rooted phone, but I don't think I can disable ipv6bon my cell network (onlycan be blocked on a wifi connection).

 

It appears that torgaurd has true ipv6 blocking for android in their client software. Is there any plan for airvpn to address this issue?

 

I think I may request a refund for the remaining time I have on my account since without this feature I do not need airvpn...
