Basic question from non-techie about user.key

Recommended Posts

Is the user.key the same as the API.Key? I saw in my settings that the API.KEY is disabled, so I assume if they're the same I don't have to change the user.key. But if they're not, how do I know if the user.key is activated on my account and how do I change it? Of course, I'm using the Windows client.

Thanks for any guidance.

NO.

The api.key used in OpenVPN identifies yourself against the openvpn server. It is something like a password in a safer way. The API-KEY is a dedicated access password for the API. The API is an interface for other tools to communicate with AirVPN. You can keep it disabled until you will use something that asks you to enable it.
