008800 0 Posted ... Hi, I’m setting up AirVPN on a router (OpenWrt) and trying to decide between WireGuard and OpenVPN. I’m mainly looking for the best performance and stable connection. What are your experiences with both on routers? Quote Share this post Link to post

SurprisedItWorks 54 Posted ... I have both set up on my dd-wrt router. Wireguard is way faster, and its connections are more stable. With OpenVPN I end up changing servers due to performance issues multiple times per week, but that's really rare with wireguard. Seems to handle a loaded server better. spinmaster 31 Posted ... I use WireGuard as default and OpenVPN with some special ports as "backup" in cases where I cannot connect via regular WireGuard (though this has rarely happened). Quote Share this post Link to post
