Ramba 0 Posted ... (edited) Hey all, On a Win 11 machine, I'm trying to install a TAP Windows Adapter to use (I have my reasons). This is offered from within Eddie's advanced settings. Can't get it to work unfortunately. It keeps trying to reinstall the adapter over and over again. Even if I manually install, I can't get Eddie to actually use it. I'm also unsure about what to select in the driver settings (none?). Any suggestions on how to get this to work? Any help is very appreciated. Thanks. Ramba 0 Posted ... (edited) No one? That's kinda disappointing... I've used at least 3 other VPN providers before and I've never had any problems with installing a TAP adapter. Tried every possible thing I could think of, so I'm guessing it's a bug in Eddie. I'll check if other versions have the same issue. Edited ... by Ramba Quote Share this post Link to post
EMULE 13 Posted ... Hello! It's clear that Eddie version 2.24.6 has disabled the use of the tap driver. I think the official reason is that tap is too slow and therefore abandoned it, since the wintun driver is much faster. To use the Tap driver in Eddie, select Eddie version 2.21.8 from the download page. In Eddie 2.21.8, there is a rollback driver option. Check the box to enable Eddie 2.21.8 to use the Tap driver. To use the latest tap driver, you can try installing the latest version of the OpenVPN client and connecting using a configuration file.
