Xfinity possible issues or Airvpn?

The last two days, my xfinity gateway has reporting full gig speed down and 100Mbps up. (What I'm paying for.) (Speedtest.net is confirming.)

When Airvpn is connected (via Eddie) almost ALL of the US server speeds drop to 100-300Mbps down and 30-80Mpbs up. With some servers even worse. (Speedtest is confirming this as well.)

Even the best and closest servers to my location are reporting (at best) about 75% of download and 80% up. (Some overhead IS expected, but this is a LOT of loss). Turn off Air and connectivity is back to full speed.

Is this throttling, or DNS issues?
