Problem with port forwarding on Transmission

Hello,

I'm new to VPN and all and would like to get some help re opening the port on Transmission. I keyed in the same port number that I obtained from the Remote Forwarded Port page into Transmission but it still shows in Transmission that the port is closed. I did a check on the port number on the AirVPN page and that it was "Reachable on the server IP over that external port". I'm not sure what else I need to do. It would be appreciated if someone can kindly provide some instructions on how I can get the port opened on Transmission. BTW - I'm using a Mac.
