ANSWERED Port forwarding always gives 110 error

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to use port forwarding with qBittorrent v5.0.1. For the past several days I haven't been able to test any ports and get an "open" result, though I haven't changed any settings.

I'm running Windows 11. I connect to a server (I've tried more than one), add a new port in the Client Area on AirVPN's website, open QB, enter the port in settings, restart QB for good measure, then start the torrents. The "test open" button in AirVPN always results in a 110: connection timed out error.

I tried using the PortListen tool and would get the "open" result for IPv4, but still 110 for IPv6.

My firewall is set to allow QB for both public and private networks.

I'm pretty new to all of this so I'm really not sure what to try next. Any thoughts? I feel like I've read every thread about this problem already and unfortunately nothing has helped.

Forward a port, and then connect. For good measure.

Set qB to listen to the VPN interface. It's found in Advanced > Network interface. If you leave the IP binding option to All addresses, v4 and v6 will be used.

You could disable the firewall completely. When connected to the VPN, the VPN server is effectively your firewall, while when not, the router is.
