Eddie stable - why so old? Security concerns.

Hi,

Hopefully one of Eddie's developers will see this and provide some insight.

The latest stable is now over two years old! From a security perspective should we be using the stable or latest experimental version?

Why hasn't a more up to date stable version been released since 2.21.8? 

I've used AirVPN for several years, but am concerned over the pace of Eddie development.

Can the developer please provide some insight when the next stable will be released? If we are supposed to be using experimental, then why is stable the default download option?

I use an "in between" method.  Once an experimental release version is out for some time without seeing any/very few issues I will download and use that exact version.  I remove the experimental link from my sources file so the next experimental version release doesn't install until I watch it for a few weeks.  ------ that is on my family machines.

My test machine runs with experimental wide open.  If a release breaks something its easy to revert back.  2.24.2 has been flawless and performs much better for me than the older stable release.  FYI - running 100% Mint 21.3 and 22.

I was just wondering the same thing.  I'm thinking of jumping to the latest experimental version.

I find it unusual that no response whatsoever has been given by the staff or the mods on this topic... because I was having the same thoughts - not that I don't trust airvpn with what they are doing though.

I went to the latest experimental version and find it works a lot better with the latest MacOS.

I have found the same for Windows 11, much better using the experimental version 😉
