Debian wg-quick not working with IPv6 set to yes

Debian 12 user here. When I load the generated wireguard config and run wg-quick, I get an error about not being able to start IPv6 or something. When I change the config parameter 'setenv UV_IPV6' from yes to no, the service starts and works normally. Is there any drawback to doing this? Is this the way it's normally dealt with? Is there a reason I should try to use IPv6?
