How to remote access with VPN active. 2 instances of wireguard

I'm running debian CLI

long story short. I can't remote access my server while the VPN is up.

For the VPN - I am using a wireguard config file generated from AirVpn (wgair0.conf) config generator. 

for remote access - I am using a second wireguard instance (wg0.conf) to allow access from my Android device.  

Both of these configs do work individually. But when I run the VPN config (wgair0.conf) I lose access to remote access via my Android device (wg0.conf). 

I know this is a firewall issue but I just can't get my head around how to solve this.

On a previous Linux server, I had the same issue and this comment from Reddit got it working again. But I can't remember how to implement it this time.
