How to troubleshoot slow connection on Linux

Running AirVPN Suite on Ubuntu Server 22.04 and I'm getting ~3.5Mbps with VPN on and ~250Mbps with VPN disconnected.

I'm just allowing Bluetit to connect whichever server it thinks is best, all other config is default. 

How can I begin to troubleshoot this?
