Android: use with local network only?

One of the support staff helped me resolve issues with eddie not working at all when using t-mobile. I'm noticing however that when I leave the house, eddie more often than not doesn't work on mobile data until I unlock my phone, open the app, disconnect and then reconnect using the specially created OVPN the support staff had me create.

This can get pretty tedious between doing stuff out in the yard, going for a run, or otherwise. Is there a way to just apply airVPN to my local network only, and leave t-mobile off of the VPN on my phone? That way I hopefully won't have to manually do this disconnecting/reconnecting thing all the time.
