ANSWERED Constant connection drops when torrent client is active

Recommended Posts

Posted ... (edited)

MacOS, AirVPN Eddie 2.23.1

This just started up yesterday.
VPN works fine when first connected. Once Qbittorrent is started and makes a couple connections VPN traffic drops to zero and after about 60 seconds disconnects and reconnects. This cycle goes on until Qbit is closed.

Tried:
AirVPN settings are all default and using tcp 443 and ipv4 only

QBit:
port open in the router,
network interface: tun3 (VPN connection)

Tried many other things but just can figure out what is going on.

Logs right after a disconnect

Is there a reason why you use TCP?

port open in the router,

Do not open this in the router, only in AirVPN.

I was forcing TCP based on other threads I've read. When forcing UDP I get the same results. Currently, I have it set to automatic in Eddie and both within QB.
I should have mentioned the port is open with AirVPN.

If UDP works, don't force TCP. Try this: Reboot the machine (not shutdown, then startup), then set UDP/443 for the connection.
In qB, set the protocol to TCP only and adjust the max connections to ~100.
Then try again.

Thanks for getting back.
I reset preferences on both apps and still no go. I spun up a hard-wired server with a docker instance of QB and everything worked fine.
After constant video drops, with no VPN, I found that my AP was acting up.
Guess its about time to retire this old boy.
