To access the uncensored internet, I had to use a server in texas which is not close to me. Somehow, mullvad manages to avoid censorship for websites that I use... I don't know how it does.

I can access wassada and weather from Japan. Quasarzone is blocked by cloudflare; auction and danawa just time out. Most Korean websites that I need to log into won't work with AirVPN. And, it looks as though many websites are blocking VPN access in general - a disturbing trend that's not going to improve with time I'm afraid.

I suspect the reasons that mullvad is not blocked are

• mullvad has more servers
• intelligence agencies and military divisions stopped targeting mullvad as much
• intelligence agencies and military are now more strongly targeting established VPN providers that support bittorrent network. They hire people who do bad things on targeted VPN providers. Some of the hired people are keyboard warriors. In this case, port forwarding is not the direct cause for censorship. The reason that they want to shut down bittorent network is that bittorrent network works around censorship or information blockade they want to enforce worldwide. Bittorrent network allows people to disseminate real censored knowledge. Movies aren't knowledge, but they can be used as excuses for cracking down bittorrent.
