BestDuckFollower 0 Posted ... Hello, First time posting and curious if i should be concerned with handshake problems during p2p downloads. Killswitch is on and I got the interface bind on my p2p client. No leaks and even the Torrent IP test returned VPN ip. During the download however (and after) I noticed the following: .2023.04.23 16:40:36 - WireGuard > Retrying handshake with peer 1 (193.37.254.2:1637) because we stopped hearing back after 15 seconds . 2023.04.23 16:48:27 - Above log line repeated 8 times more Any potential issues with ip leak during the "retrying" handshake phase? Thanks in advance for replies Regards! Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... If your torrent client is bound to the Wireguard interface, you're good. If Wireguard loses the connection, no traffic will flow. I've got a similar setup with OpenVPN and qBittorrent, so I can launch qB without a connection and qB would not be able to speak to the internet at all. It reads to me as if you didn't limit the uplink in the client. You shouldn't let the client occupy all of it, a limit of ~90% in advised. BestDuckFollower 0 Posted ... Excellent, thank you for yoru reply. It seems the handshake issue was temporary. Im connected to the same server today and while under load no handshake problems what so ever. Quote Share this post Link to post
