wireguard vpn qnap server nas, how do i access remotely? i have forwarded ports isp router, but no joy

i have followed online guards, but i dont think it works
i can't access my qnap nas, i have downloaded the config/created the file and try to connect - and it shows active. i can route/access the internet, but the ip hasn't changed 

i also have a vpn wireguard client running, not sure if that is affecting anything? ) i have tried disabling that, but it still makes no difference

the port forwarding when i check shows it as closed and not open, so i think this could be an issue , although i dont see why it is showing closed as my isp allows port forwarding
 port 51820 is the wireguard port i am using

How do you connect to it, as in, which IP/domain name are you using?
