Do you see benefits with wintun?

I've been playing around with using the wintun versus the wintap driver with Eddie 2.20.0 on Windows 10.

And I'm curious - of those of you who use the wintun driver, do you actually experience benefits from it? In other words, can you tell the difference? Or why do you use it - if you do?

I've seen other posts about this but they might be out of date and I'm wondering what people who are using wintun now think about it.

People started to praise it on occasion after this post in the linked thread:

Sometimes it's mentioned in threads with other topics that wintun doubled or at least boosted their throughput, for example:

Staff mentioned it to be "remarkably more efficient":

That's what the forums offer in its history, and it hints at the large benefit of more throughput.
Others will probably chime in with good experiences as well.

Rarely, wintun doesn't work correctly or outright with Eddie's NetLock. It also doesn't improve throughput in certain system configurations (compared to TAP, that is). You should test it yourself to see if it's cool. Thankfully, Eddie offers a quick way to switch the driver to use.
