DNS stops functioning every few hours

Hello, I'm running eddie-ui CLI on Debian 10 on my home server, and it seems that every few hours, the DNS seemingly stops functioning, considering that there is a "temporary failure in name resolution" when attempting to ping a website. The only way I've found to fix this so far is to stop the vpn and start it again, but this is extremely irritating as there are services running all of the time that require good uptime. This only started recently, I have no indication as to what may have caused it, as I used to only need to restart the VPN every week or so. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
