Mrd0708 1 Posted ... Hi, I can't get portforwarding to work. Mapped to public IP shows the IP of the vpn. This is correct. Forwarded to shows an IP i have never seen before 10.xx.xxx.xx. Shouldnt this be my wan IP? Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance Share this post Link to post

When you connect to AirVPN, you connect to its network, hence the name Virtual (= software-based) Private (= unreachable from public) Network. This network assigns private IP addresses in the private IP range of 10.x.x.x. The forward must go to that private IP because you've got that private IP assigned. So, which software are you trying to reach? Is this software running and listening on the VPN interface (TAP-Windows or tun0 on Linux)? Mrd0708 1 Posted ... Thank you for your answer. I understand how it works now. I tried to reach my mediaserver with the VPN turned off and it didnt work aswell so I figured out something was wrong with my local port forwarding. Got it to work now. 1 OpenSourcerer reacted to this Share this post Link to post
