Einar Ólafsson 0 Posted ... (edited) I'm trying to use AirVPN on my Macbook Pro (macOS 11.1) while connected to the internet using my phone as a mobile hotspot (Android phone, Fairphone 3). But I cannot connect to any server, I've tried many different protocols, especially SSH with the default and different port, but nothing seems to work. The connection fails to authenticate, then restarts and keeps trying. I've also tried changing "Internet Protocol used for connection" to IPv4 only. Also tried "Layer IPv6" from "Inside tunnel if supported, otherwise blocked" to "Inside tunnel if supported, otherwise outside". Same for "Layer IPv4" I've tried to change my phone from 4G to 3G but that did not work either. I'm able though to use OpenVPN on my phone, using AirVPN servers, without a problem. But since the hotspot circumvents the OpenVPN connection on the phone, that would not help me. The reason I'm trying to use a VPN is that I'm having connection issues with servers that I work with, as well as some other strange behaviours while connected via a mobile hotspot, and I was hoping being connected via VPN would help resolve these issues. I tried also ProtonVPN but it also fails to connect. Edited ... by Einar Ólafsson Quote Share this post Link to post
