Second Eddie window stuck on screen when launching Eddie twice

Sometimes I misclick and open Eddie a second time.  When that happens, I get the Eddie splashscreen with a status "Connect with daemon for system privileges", and it stays on my desktop forever.
I think the proper behaviour here should be for the second instance window to abort and close.

In Preferences > General, make sure Single instance is checked.

In Windows open task manager and end the Eddie process using less memory and the redundant Eddie splash screen will close.
