Super slow speeds

I have 100Mbps down from my ISP. I have 5Mbps up.

83.23Mbps and 4.86Mbps in a speedtest.

Via the Vpn I get 2.25Mbps up and 2.62 up.

I forwarded a port which when checking says "waiting for a checking".

I have been reading through the posts. But I can't find anything to actually help. I have comodo firewall but the only thing I have found relevant to that is the dns leak guide, which i tested on dnsleaktest something or other and my connection seemed fine, no dns leaks to my isp.

I just dont get the speeds everyone else does. Maybe its my old XP machine that needs to just die. I have two weeks to figure this out or I will be looking to try another VPN.

If anyone could give me any pointers or ideas, would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
