Error 0xc0000142 on shutdown or reboot

Recommended Posts

Hello,
PC running windows 10.
I used to run Eddie 2.16.3 up until a few days ago without any noticeable issue.

I installed latest stable Eddie 2.18.9.
It runs, it connects, but it will induce an "ipconfig Error 0xc0000142" if I try to shutdown or reboot the pc.
Windows will shutdown or reboot correctly if Eddie is uninstalled.
Running windows 10, tried scan sfc, DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, cleaning the registry with ccleaner.

Haven't found another topic related to this issue.

when moving to the new version how did you install it.   did you leave the previous version installed and just open the new installer?

I stopped the previous version but didn't uninstall it.
I then installed the new version, then the problem appeared.

After a few researches and tries to fix the error, I uninstalled Eddie, rebooted, reinstalled the new version, rebooted again.
It didn't fix the problem.

The reports are piling up – updating 2.18.9 on Windows 10 renders it unusable while 2.16 3 previously worked. I can't really see the problem. 😕

This time, it works overall.
Other than that error that I have to click on when I want to shutdown or restart the pc, I also have Eddie that will only launch in system tray at startup when the option is unchecked.
Those are not big issues and I'm probably somewhat lucky, but yeah, we can consider that this version is not the best we've seen.
The 0xc0000142 error still is annoying.

On the other hand, also using Windows 10, I updated to 2.18.9 and it worked flawlessly right off. 1 question for those experiencing the problem: do you exit Eddie *before* shutting down or rebooting?
