TruckerZer0 0 Posted ... (edited) Hello all, i have found a problem running Eddie Client on openSUSE Tumbleweed, by enabling the setting in the options to minimize the application in the tray it actually minimizes it on the taskbar, and raising it up results in having an empty window with only the border visible; The only solution for make it visible again is to completely close the application and then reopen it; My configuration currently is: openSUSE Tumbleweed 5.5.7 x86_64, Qt 5.14.1, KDE Apps 19.12.2, KDE Plasma 5.18.2; I thank you for any help, sorry for my poor English; Edited ... by TruckerZer0 Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... Cannot reproduce on Debian testing, KDE 5.17.5, Qt 5.12.5. You're likely on Eddie v2.16.3, though. Can you please try it with the latest beta? It fixes stuff on all platforms. Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. USE TICKETS FOR PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT. TruckerZer0 0 Posted ... Sorry, i forgot to add which version of Eddie i'm using, i'm already on the latest beta version, 2.18.7... Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... Huh, okay. We should test this on KDE Neon, that distro always has got bleeding-edge packages from KDE. If it occurs there, chances are something changed somewhere in KDE breaking Eddie, or Mono. By the way, which Mono version are you on? TruckerZer0 0 Posted ... (edited) Mono 6.8.0; In the meantime I did a quick search in the forum, and found another user's post that reproduces exactly my situation; Also a few post later he mentions another problem that we share, when Eddie's window has the focus on the dektop the Plasma applications menu flickers, becoming in fact completely unusable; By removing the focus on the window the menu back to normality... OWild 5 Posted ... Hi there, Im' not a developper so i try to help open source software with my bug reports or suggestions. I use eddie since 3 years now, so i can maybe could make some feedbacks or suggestions. I have the same issue decribed above here (since 3 years now). Of course "minimize in tray" option is checked in the setting of eddie. It' hard to explain the behavior of the eddie window but, If I left click on eddie in the taskbar, the window is empty as described before So I have to left click on the systray to do a "'show main window". So i can use eddie UI. Then i have to do a left click on the systray to do a "'hide main window" to have eddie in only the systray. So it' a lot of clicks only to have the normal behaviour. The option "start minimized" is also useless since with this option eddie appears in systray (but a left click show eddie only in the taskbar but not the main window) or directly in the taskbar but a click on it display nothing. I guess all of this have the same origin. Thanks, O! OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... I can reproduce this now, by the way. Launch Eddie. Minimize Eddie. Restore Eddie window. Window is blank. Select "show main window" in tray. Contents are shown again. Arch Linux KDE 5.27.3, Framework 5.104.0, Qt 5.15.8 on kernel 6.2.8. Similar CPU, RAM and graphics. Same software versions. Using Wayland. cross.check 0 Posted ... Does anyone know any workarounds or fixes to this? I started to use AirVPN/Eddie a week ago and this is pretty annoying bug. I am on Arch Linux (latest kernel: 6.4.4-arch1-1), using x11 and KDE Plasma 5.27.6. Quote Share this post Link to post

What I do is clicking the tray icon and clicking "Show Main Window". Definitely a bit of a workaround, but at least I quickly move on. Quote Share this post Link to post

Gaechka 7 Posted ... I have the same issue with "minimizing to tray" on Manjaro Linux with XFCE desktop. It's just not working. Although it's working on the Eddie version 2.16.3. Quote Share this post Link to post

Support recommend testing the 2.23 eddie version (choose experimental in the donwload page). For me, this version doesn't fix the issue. We can report our results in the dedicated thread : Quote Share this post Link to post

air9898 0 Posted ... Same issue using 2.21.8 from AUR Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.113.0 Qt Version: 5.15.11 Kernel Version: 6.6.7-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Thank you jx35552zza for the workaround (show main window, then hide main window). Would be nice if fixed but the workaround is fine. I would like a monochrome white tray icon but that's a separate issue. Quote Share this post Link to post
