Kayn 0 Posted ... Hi, I'm trying to create a VPN connection on my Synology DS120j using this guide: Unfortunately I always receive this message: ovpn file contains invalid parameters. Any tip ? Thanks Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... I've been informed in another thread that Synology ships OpenVPN 2.3.x. If you are generating your .ovpn file, remember to check the Advanced box and select OpenVPN <2.4. Did you check that? However I need the encryption because of my ISP so I need a way to use the NAS with OpenVPN>2.4, is this achievable in some way ? Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... Encryption? That comes free of charge. Data Channel will be encrypted with AES-256-GCM, of course. Unless you mean tls-crypt, the encryption of the Control Channel, there you're on Synology's good will, I'm afraid. Thinking about it, what you can try, "don't try this at home", is to download an openvpn binary to your user's home directory and try executing OpenVPN from there. Of course, you will need to use the command line, therefore SSH, and the Web UI cannot be used, so it's largely a pain to get it automated.
