IKEv2 to OpenVPN bridge

Hi AirVPN users,

I would like to know if anyone's had experience with setting up their own IKEv2 to OpenVPN  bridge.
I am not bashing OpenVPN or anything and have nothing against it really, however for some reason on iOS you can't have an always-on OpenVPN connection for some reason.
Now my plan is to get around that by running a VPN bridge on an old computer in my house that my phone connects to, the computer would then act as a 'bridge' to the AirVPN servers.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Is it a bad idea?
