Hi

Trying to get Eddie started on latest Ubuntu.   I am running from a terminal to try to get a readout.   Upon startup I am asked for the root password then nothing.  All I get is :

2019.06.22 20:39:16 - Eddie version: 2.16.3 / linux_x64, System: Linux, Name: Unknown, Version: Linux alienware-r17 4.20.8 #1 SMP Thu May 9 20:49:04 BST 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux, Mono/.Net: 5.20.1.27 (tarball Sun 16 Jun 13:35:45 BST 2019); Framework: v4.0.30319
. 2019.06.22 20:39:16 - Restarting with admin privileges (method:pkexec-policy).

If I run strace to start Eddie (end of readout after root password is entered) I get:

wait4(-1, . 2019.06.22 20:39:08 - Eddie version: 2.16.3 / linux_x64, System: Linux, Name: Unknown, Version: Linux alienware-r17 4.20.8 #1 SMP Thu May 9 20:49:04 BST 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux, Mono/.Net: 5.20.1.27 (tarball Sun 16 Jun 13:35:45 BST 2019); Framework: v4.0.30319

Any help or advice please

Does it work when you start with sudo?

Four simple things:
There's a guide to AirVPN. Before you ask questions, take 30 minutes of your time to go through it.

Amazon IPs are not dangerous here. It's the fallback DNS.
Running TOR exits is discouraged. They're subject to restrictions on the internet and harm all AirVPN users.

Furthermore, I propose that your paranoia is to be destroyed. If you overdo privacy, you'll be unique among the mass again.

Thanks.
Yes if i ran it from root I did get a startup, but the main issue was Mono.   It was in /opt and not /usr.   I am now running Eddie from a self contained directory, ie. not installed system wide.
