ANSWERED Couldn't access specific sites, routing got weird, seem AirVPN DNS is the problem

Recommended Posts

Is there something wrong with AirVPN DNS? It been behaving so weird for me. I recently renewed my sub and Eddie just borked out so bad. I am not sure what is causing the issue. The issue is I can't access specific sites like Tixati.com, anidb.net, yahoo.com, and AIRVPN.org and then Ipv6 took infinite time to route, it just stuck in the loop. I have to disconnect it and force it not to use IPv6 and the route but it still using IPv6 that I told it not to. I tried tracerouting, only thing I can route is Google, but not the rest I listed. And recently yahoo become inaccessible, I just accessed it to test it through AirVPN then the next sec it stop working. And I can't access AirVPN when using Eddie. It is weird it prevent accessing to AirVPN site. It kept saying the host cannot be found, I assumed it was my host file but I can access the site fine without Eddie. It seem pointing to AirVPN DNS.

Here the list I checked to make sure I did

  • Checked two different browser (Firefox and Chrome)
  • Cleared out my DNS list in Eddie
  • Assumed my host file is corrupted, /flushdns and /registerdns completed.
  • Changed setting to only use ipv4
  • Changed setting to stop routing
  • Reinstalled Eddie twice
  • Tried different service, One in America and other in Canada
  • Use and use without network lock
  • Untick and ticked Check AirVPN DNS

I attached two things, the AirVPN Log and my traceroute log.

Did you enable "Remove default gateway" option by any chance?

Ahh, that the one causing the issue. I disabled the option and it back to normal. I believe that option was enabled when I updated Eddie to 2.16.3, it was disabled in the past. I'm curious why it reenabled itself?

You seem to be the first one with this so far. But I'm glad it works now.
