Eddie doesnt seem to work on ubuntu 18.10

I upgraded my ubuntu to 18.10 from 18.04 yesterday and the eddie airvpn client no longer seems to work, is this a current known issue to be resolved? or will it no longer be supported on ubuntu going forward?

I have two computers running Ubuntu 18.10 since yesterday, and both of them are using Eddie 2.17.2 (beta) without problems.

 

One of the two computers simply used the upgrade path from 18.04.  It had been using Eddie 2.17.2 before the upgrade, and was still able to do so after everything was done.

 

The other of the two computers received a fresh install of 18.10: I saved settings and such but otherwise blew away my previous installation (18.04) and reinstalled 18.10 onto a blank disk.  I reinstalled Eddie 2.17.2 and it's working just fine, too.

 

So Eddie appears to work on at least some Ubuntu 18.10 installations, and the difference isn't whether Ubuntu was upgraded or if it was a fresh install.

I installed with the deb file and it works fine for me now.  I was using the portable version.
