Does always connecting through IPV4 pose any risks?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that the Eddie client on Debian 8 was reconnecting several times to different servers before it would settle on one. Looking at the logs, I noticed that it was trying to connect via IPV6 first and failing. So I changed the "IP protocol used for connecting" to IPV4 only, and now it connects successfully on the first try. Is there any problem with doing it this way, and what might be the issue my system has with IPV6?

At this point I'm not familiar with much of the lingo of VPN connections and what settings do what, so bear with me.
