Network Lock - forever

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have a strange error - which is that I cannot access internet without having eddie activated. Hmm, standard "network lock"-functionality you might think? Well I don`t have network lock activated. But when I`m connected through airvpn/eddie - I have internet. And without it, I have no internet.

I`m running mac os 10.13.5 (17F77) and this problem occured tonight. It might have something to do with the fact that I had the old "airvpn"-application and the newest "eddie"-application running at the same time. None of them had network lock activated, and I have uninstalled the old "airvpn"-application now. But still no internet.

Hopefully someone has encountered this problem before and is able to guide me in the right direction!

All it takes is for you to reset your network settings.  As I run a PC, I am unsure exactly how to do so on a Mac OS.. but I'm sure a quick search will point you in the right direction.

Make sure that no instance of Eddie is set to start up with on boot and make sure you have internet before signing back in.

Unfortunately, it seems to be an issue that pops up from time to time.  Thankfully, the fix I found is easy .. if temporary.

Hopefully some one will offer a better, long term solution.

Did you modify your /etc/pf.conf? Maybe Eddie didn't switch it back to original after quitting? You can try to running this in terminal to use default file:

sudo pfctl -f /etc/pf.conf

I modified my pf.conf on purpose and have network lock all the time until I connect to one of AirVPN servers.

Thank you for your replies, I have not modified my pf.conf file, and when I gave your command a try I got this message:

pfctl: Use of -f option, could result in flushing of rules

present in the main ruleset added by the system at startup.

See /etc/pf.conf for further details.
