Getting bittorrent to work

I am new to airvpn, and I am trying to get bittorrent to work. I have set up port forwarding for port 3xxxx and configured it in Opera (I am using the Opera internal client). The test from within Opera shows that this port is properly forwarded. When I did this without airvpn I had passed port 6881 through my firewall also but the airvpn forwarding setup page says this is reserved.

I can initiate a torrent download but no data is ever downloaded. The torrent is new today so I do not believe it has gone stale.

What am I missing?

Edit: Switched to ktorrent instead of the Opera client and it works. Specifying tun0 as the interface seemed to matter.
