With my two previous VPN providers I kept getting blocked, not so with AirVPN. Why!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been with PrivateInternetAcces and then NordVPN for a long time. I noticed I more and more often got blocked both in the UK and Norway when trying to access content. I signed up for a month with AirVPN and have been trying all the UK servers I can find. They all work. I am not being blocked. I'm not that technical but I would be interested in knowing if there's a reason AirVPN seems less prone to being blocked that those two large VPN providers?

AirVPN seems less prone to being blocked that those two large VPN providers?

The answer is in plain sight. ISP's and Network Admins that are circumvented by frequently used IP addresses are simply more likely to block those addresses compared to smaller providers with far less use.

AirVPN to top it off has more traffic obfuscation options than any other VPN service that exists right now, with more in development all the time.

PIA and NordVPN have like one obfuscation method, or maybe even none at all. Last i checked, PIA only gives you a couple ports and only TCP and UDP with no obfuscation.

Right now AirVPN has 9 ports available for connection: 443 80 53 1194 2018 41185 22 38915 28439

Each of those ports can be connected to via TCP or UDP.

Ports like 443 and 22 and a few higher port numbers have their own configs for SSL/SSH tunnels

All the other ports now have support for TLS-Crypt for TCP and UDP.

To put it simply, there is an ocean of circumvention options with AirVPN, that when compared to others make PIA and NordVPN look like a puddle.

EDIT: Forgot about the alternate-entry IP options as well. You don't even have to connect through the front door! so to speak.
