Cannot Send Email

Greetings,

 

I cannot send email from Thunderbird under Linux Mint while connected to AirVPN.  I receive the following error message.

 

"Sending of the message failed.  The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtpout.secureserver.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."

 

Any idea what is causing this? 

 

I've used other VPNs in the past and never had this problem.

What's your email provider?

 

Trying other servers might help.

Change to port 465 in your SMTP settings, Godaddy (Secureserver) supports it.

Port 25 is blocked to prevent bulk spam via open relays.
