What encryption is used

Hi,

 

New to AirVPN, just subscribed today after a longgggg look at various VPN services.

 

Installed Eddie, just have two questions about the VPN.

 

1. What is the default encryption used?

 

2. Where in the Eddie client can I view (or change) the type of encryption used if I ever wanted to do so?

Changing it is impossible via the GUI. the only possible choice is AES-256-CBC with HMAC-SHA1

or AES-256-GCM with HMAC-SHA384 for control channel in case you are on OpenVPN 2.4.x.

This makes the service and the software secure by default, without any option for misconfiguration.
