Google Drive File Stream - very slow speed

Hello,

 

I tried over 12 different Servers and the Speed is pending between 200 kb and 900 kb (if I am VERY lucky with a server).

 

I have a 100 mbit up/down connection and can download with max. speed from google drive, but uploading is slow as a snail. (just for g-drive)

 

Am I just unlucky or did I miss an option or something? 

 

Google tells me, that google drive behind a auth proxy is still not supported and can cause slow speed, but that thread was from the year 2012 and it would blow my mind, if that would be still the case.

 

Does someone know how to whitelist the google drive in the airvpn gui?

 

I tried that stuff I have found via google, but did not helped at all:

edit: I switched to Munich IP and get ~ 4 2 1 MB after some seconds. Pretty low

 

edit2: Tried again the same Munich server now I get full speed. I guess there were some hiccups.

 

edit3: Next day same problem again. Limited to > 750 kb. Tried different servers no changes.

Is this only on Google Drive? Did you try downloading a large file elsewhere? I only have half your bandwidth(50/25) but I experience no hit at all.

I gave up on google drive client itself. I am using rclone for now until I hit the 3rd party 'shadow limit'. I will go over that bridge when they are doing it.

Because this thread is the number one search result and I had again a similar problem - to underline my experience and give a final shootout:

After 4+ years working with Google Drive, rclone and airvpn/other VPN provider, I can assure you, that google throttles the bandwidth in any direction for any known VPN provider for their google drive API. Does not matter if you use 3rd party clients with your own ID or Google Drive itself.
