Linux - eddie openvpn executable fails to connect

Hello,

Is it safe to replace your openvpn executable at the eddie Linux portable client  with the executable from the OS?

The reason for this is that your openvpn client searches for ifconfig, that is obsolete & unavailable at my OS, and the result is I cannot connect.

If I replace the openvpn with a link to the OS openvpn, everything seams to work as expected to me.

However I am confused by the huge differences at the sizes of the two executable, yours being nearly 4 times bigger in size ?!

Does your openvpn executable have some additional functionality of yours inserted in the context of AirVPN usage, that makes it more secure and functional than the OS openvpn executable?
