Start Of Session Routine Changed

Something changed last week with my routine when I switch on my iMac to browse the internet, but I'm not sure how it happened.

 

Normally at the end of a session (always using AirVPN) I would disconnect from my chosen server but never logout of AirVPN (always Network locked), then switch off my modem, then switch off my computer. This meant when I next switched on my computer, the AirVPN window still showed me logged in, and when I switched on my modem I could immediately go to my server of choice without having to log in.

 

However, since last week, when I switch on the computer and check my status on AirVPN I can actually see the Logout button changing to Login, and I now have to log in to AirVPN every single time, which is no great hassle but has me wondering what has changed. AirVPN is still working as normal, it's just this start routine which has me wondering, so maybe someone can clarify how it should be.
