china ready block all vpns in February, 2018

Recommended Posts

They're simply making it more difficult for average Chinese citizens to use a VPN. Chinese companies and individuals can't run a VPN or provide access to one without a license according to this. Apparently foreign companies doing business in China can't either. Unless you live in western China, you should continue to have access. China is more concerned with keeping average citizens fenced in and unaware. Most will just decide it's not worth the trouble. Low profile expats, technically savvy Chinese individuals, and visitors are not on their hit list. The gfw may decide on it's own to block suspicious traffic, but so far VPN providers have proven more than a match for this cat and mouse game.
