disconnecting vpn

I recently started having a problem disconnecting airvpn and being able to use my internet.  when disconnecting I remove network lock and then exit airvpn through the menu.  In the past if there was a problem I would go into the ipv4 properties and manually change to obtain dns server address automatically.  For some reason this has stopped fixing the issue, and I cant get internet access without the vpn on.

 

Any ideas?

Do a test without using DNS:. When you are connected to the internet OK (perhaps that means with AirVPN active), find a website you can visit that uses only the IP address, not the domain name, like in the format hxxp://123.123.123.123/ . Then, disconnect VPN and see if you can access the website with regular non-VPN internet access. This might help determine if DNS is a problem.
