ip address different from vpn server

Hi Im new to using vpn.

Got it installed on my set top box running linux.The logs tell me that the vpn is connected as far as I know.

When I telnet to the box and use wget ipinfo.io it tells me the ip address of a german server.....not the one vpn is using. I get this result with the vpn on or off.

Also I find this strange as Im in the uk and so is my local server.On my set top box I have some apps with proxy servers installed.

the question is am I connected to the vpn ?

Connect to airvpn on site and look on top...if connect to an airvpn server, the site will tell you the server name with a green tick
