vdidwania 11 Posted ... Hello, I have AirVPN running as OpenVPN on a Asus RT-AC68P where all my client connect to. Port forwarding and everything works great. I have unRAID running on a home server connected to this router behind the VPN that is running the lastest version on Nextcloud. I am easily able to access my Nextcloud outside the home, remotely, via the AirVPN port forward airdns system. I want to be able to access my Nextcloud server via a single address whether it is remotely (where I use the airdns port forwarder) or in house on the same WiFi network. Clearly if I'm at within the network then the Airdns port forwarder will not work. I know I can just use the local address at home to access but it would be nice not to have to keep switching server addresses. Is there a way to do this? Do I need to get a webhost name and have that forward to the static IP? Thank you! Quote Share this post Link to post

vdidwania 11 Posted ... Did you try DDNS?Yes but does not work internally when at home under the same vpn connection. i wonder how other people use owncloud or nextcloud server behind a vpn at home by using a single address? Quote Share this post Link to post
Sevenz 3 Posted ... In the past I used ddns (noip) to configure my owncloud. I can access it at home or at work, although when I'm at home I will be considered accessing from 'outside' because I use vpn's IP address. this is the setup I used, nextcloud.ddns.net:12345 and it will redirect me to nextcloud.ddns.net:12345/owncloud or nextcloud stuff.
