belkin 0 Posted ... Hi. I am a total noob with regards to VPN setups, but have managed to flash my router with Toastman's Tomato. OpenVPN is set up, and working well, although there is a huge speed drop. I also have a QNAP NAS box, which prior to setting up Tomato and AirVPN, I was able to access remotely. This now is not functioning, and I havnt got a clue on what I need to do. Any pointers with regards to what configs I need to carry out, would be much appreciated. Quote Share this post Link to post
nick75 25 Posted ... Hi, The huge speed drop is to be expected since consumer-grade routers aren't designed to handle high-speed encryption. To have remote access to your NAS, you need to forward a port. You can leave the first box empty, choose TCP and choose local port 443 or 80 depending on how you access your NAS. Then from a remote connexion: http://<AirVPN_IP_address>:<port> or https://<AirVPN_IP_address>:<port>where <port> is the one in bold not the local one and <AirVPN_IP_address> is here under "Visible in internet with IP (Exit)" Quote Share this post Link to post
