Strange Upnp Device

I have noticed a couple of times that a program called 'Garfield' is opening up a port on my router using Upnp.  I first noticed it on port 1984, it went away for a few days and now its back on port 1252.  Also im not sure why anything is using 192.168.1.2 as I have no devices on my network at this address.  Advice needed please.

Why would you enable UPnP in the first place? Map your ports statically and forward them in the client area.

I use Chromecasts and some DLNA servers (Foobar, Plex) and stream other devices through my home network.  Most of them do not work if Upnp is off.

I have just about every media streamer ever made (chromecasts, Amazon sticks, Nvidia Shield, various ROKUs, too many to count android and android tv boxes, etc....  hell even my Toaster has a DLNA server it seems.  So far everything works just fine without UPnP.  Even my PLEX remote access works fine with one static map (I just moved my PMS from one of my PC's to my Nvidia Shield), although I did put plexauth in as an extra security step.

Update.  I have had Upnp permanently off since the original post and like you I can say that I have no issues at all.  All my Chromecasts are working.  I have even noticed that Emule is fully connecting with a High Id even though I had forwarded the ports before.  So just what is the point in Upnp??
