speed down to 0.15 mbps, PFsense 2.3

Recommended Posts

Usually my speed is about 15 mbps, and when a vpn server dips i just restart openvpn to connect to a new server, when i restart my router or openvpn, it only connects to 104.129.24.155, which is insanely slow

I used this tutorial, and it's been working fine for a couple months

Am i being throttled?

Hmm.. have you manually inserted a new server ip and tested that?

I found that unhashing the 'rcvbuf' and 'sndbuf' lines under Advanced Configuration > Custom options (under OpenVPN client) helped boost speeds.

yes I did, and it's working fine now that I manually inserted a new servers IP. but before in the openvpn:client  Server host or address: I had us.vpn.airdns.org.. when I would restart openvpn or my router, I would connect to a new server

Now, it defaults to the server I previously mentioned, which is slow. Sometimes websites will auto ban the vpn server im using, so the us.vpn.airdns.org as the server makes switching much more convenient.

Did airvpn change the servers us.vpn.airdns.org resolves to?

I'm not that advanced with pfsense as far as your second reccomendation goes,

I unhashed rcvbuff and sndbuf and my speed went from around 19,4 to 27, appreciate it... still having the same issue with what server I connect to when I have us.vpn.airdns.org in the client page though.
