Real IP Visible on UDP but not TCP

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been trying to set up port forwarding for eMule without much success (I don't know much about port forwarding, or even networking really). When I forward the ports eMule connects fine, high-id, etc so the ports do seem to be working. I use port 18200 for TCP and 18201 for UDP.

When forwarding port 18200 only on TCP I get a green dot and everything looks fine.

When forwarding port 18201 only on UDP I get a red dot.

I also noticed that if I forward 18201 on both TCP and UDP, only TCP gets checked and so I get a green dot. Why is this? I would assume that the TCP would be fine but that the UDP would still be giving a red dot?

I am using a router and tried blocking the ports but this didn't seem to work either.

I have been using Comodo but haven't been able to figure out a rule to solve this (I've only been using it since using AirVPN so there's much I still don't know).

I tried making a rule saying:

Block TCP or UDP In From MAC Any to MAC Any Where Source Port Is Any And Destination Port is 18201

but I'm still getting a red dot.

Preferably I would like to know how to solve this with Comodo, as it seems the easiest, but any help is appreciated!

Thank you.
