Is this safe to install?

I would like to install this on my firestick so that i can protect my watching habits on it. I wan't to make sure this is a safe thing to install. I know that OpenVPN is open source, but since this person is packaging it for Amazon, is it still safe?

I currently use this. Would I be better off security wise using OpenVPN connect? Which I believe is the official app?

Thank you for letting me know. I side loaded it onto my fire stick and it is working perfectly! Thank you for all your help! Also, I picked A country in the config generator and not a server. Does that mean if the server I am connected goes down, it will connect to another server in that country automatically?
