AirVPN through router: sudden deconnections

I use AirVPN through an Asus-router with AsusWRT. It works perfectly fine for all connected clients... until it doesn't.

 

At some random time, the VPN connection will stop and there is no connection to the internet through the router. This can happen when the connection is active, but also in the middle of the night.

 

The only way to re-activate is login to the router, turn the OpenVPN client Off and On again, then everything works again. This is a serious pain, not only for me but definitely for the rest of the family.

 

I'm very satisfied with AirVPN, but this issue needs to be resolved. Any support welcome

Add "persist-tun" line to your OpenVPN client config
