Using AirVPN in a Packet PC

Recommended Posts

Install Client:

First, Download the OpenVPN client for Packet PC from here.

Then, Download the generated air.zip file which includes the configuration files from your member area.

Finally, using File Explorer tool on you pocket pc device find the CAB file just downloaded.

Click on this file icon and install the application. After the installation you can

delete the CAB file.

Configuration:

Once the installation is completed, you have to copy the configuration and server

certificate files in this directory:

\Program Files\OpenVPN\config

Connect:

After the installation, the connection manager application is active and you can see the icon on the right

low corner of your screen;

The application is configured to autostart when you boot your device. You can click on this icon for accessing to the main menu.

exit: to close the connection manager application,

help: to open online help,

recent config: to show recent connections,

Start From Config: you can select any of available servers

Note that the content of this menu is built dynamically by configuration files in \Program Files\OpenVPN\config directory.

To open the configuration control panel select utils --> settings from main menu.

There you can configure the connection manager for autostarting and pinging the server before each connection. It is useful to verify if the server is reachable (using ping) before trying a new connection. Check if your wireless network is active and if you are connected to the right SSID before connecting using VPN.

From this panel is possible to change default directories for configuration and log files.

It's suggested to keep original settings.

If you start the connection to the server an authentication box will appear.

If your authentication is successful, your client is connected via VPN and the connection manager icon changes color.

If the vpn is connected but you can not browse the net, check your network adapter

settings: the network device used by Openvpn (Tap adapter) must be set for Internet connection like in the example below.

For terminating your connection select utils --> vpn from main menu. You will see a window and by clicking on "signal stop", you'll close the connection.

Or clicking on the connection manager icon and selecting exit, you will see a confirmation window,

Select "Yes" to close the connection and exit from VPN client.
