Torrenting legal in Spain

I read in a few articles that torrenting copyright protected material is legal in Spain as long as no money is involved. Is this really possible? Is Spain the safe haven of torrenting?

I don't think there is such a thing as a "safe haven" for torrenting anywhere in Europe or the so called "first world". 

 

For that you'll maybe have to look to Asia or South America for example. One european country does spring into my mind though, and that's Greece. 

They have quite bigger problems there than going after copyright infringement i guess.

 

I am not entirely sure of this, that's just an assumption of mine.

Yes, if you don't distribute or make a website to share protected files/music/movies or to gain money and you ONLY download these files to enjoy them, then it's not illegal in Spain... yet.
